For a long time, corporations have claimed to want a relationship with you. In reality, what they really want, is your money. In fact, everything they do is monetarily motivated.

For the believer, our calling is much, much higher.

We’re called to relationship.

We’re called to relationship with Christ, relationship with family, relationship with the church and relationship with those who don’t know Him. After all, relationship happens between people and people, not organizations and people.

The beauty is that our Kingdom calling to relationship syncs really, really well with the opportunity we have as practitioners of branding and marketing.

The best church branding and ministry marketing in the world happens through a relationship lens. In my view, it’s the single most important lens for proper building in the marketing and brand space.

So, next time you sit down to work on a shiny new emphasis or campaign for your church or ministry, think about the people you are trying to reach and whether or not what you are saying and doing will resonate with them.

That’s good branding.

Note: I’m giving away a free 1 hour branding session to the first ten pastors or Communications Directors (even if you don’t have the title, but do have the responsibilities) who hit me here.
