Introduction to Ministry Marketing Coaching

By chris | November 11, 2006

Welcome! I am about to do something crazy. I want to put my ideas out there on how to become a Ministry Marketing Coach for all to see. I am giving away the store, so to speak on the topic of Ministry Marketing as I understand it. My hope is to help you grow as a ministry marketer. Two years ago I set a goal to dedicate myself to training ministry leaders to use effective communication to reach more people than ever before. Now, I hope this blog will help me move toward that goal and help you understand you already have within you what you need to reach more people–what is lacking is the right mindset.

You are about to begin a process that changes the way you think about ministry and helps you help ministries reach more people than ever before!  I hope to equip you to help other people. Frankly, there is far too much work that needs to be done than one marketing group can accomplish.  It would be an honor to help others who can help ministries get the gospel outside the walls of the church. Let’s get started!

The material on this blog will be designed to help you learn the principles that make ministry communications effective and ministry-driven. You will walk through the step-by-step process that has helped hundreds of ministries improve their outreach in their communities all over the world.

As a coach, your role will be to bring out the best in the ministries you serve. You will work to help ministries use marketing principles in a way that doesn’t compromise the message of the gospel. As a coach, you don’t have to have all the answers, you need to help motivate people to reach out to God for direction, seek to understandmarketing, and discipline themselves to consistent action.   There are four areas of ministry communications where you will be able to help ministry leaders improve…

  1. You will help ministries define their mission
  2. You will coach ministries in developing messages that get attention and invite response
  3. You will learn the basics of delivering the message effectively through media channels
  4. You will help ministries position themselves better for ministering to the people attracted through the outreach marketing activities
