TV Campaign Starts this week
By chris | March 10, 2007
I have had to slow the pace of how often I post for a little while as we launch a media and door-to-door outreach campaign we are doing where I serve in Oklahoma this month. (See below) I will continue to post according to the outline of my seminar until I am finished. At the pace I am on, it may be late April or early May. Stay tuned!
Also March 28-30, I am going to the Social Marketing University in Washinton. DC if you happen to be going too, please drop me an email. Social Marketing is one of my favorite topics and I am looking forward to learning more about it and meeting Nedra Kline Weinreich face-to-face.
Oklahoma Life/ACROSS Oklahoma
The Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma has developed an evangelistic media campaign that uses TV commercials and other forms of advertising, internet evangelism and door-to-door outreach. Already we have commitments from Oklahoma Southern Baptist churches to visit 608,000 homes on March 31st.
The visits will coincide with the high point in our TV advertising campaign. See the spot and website here Also you can see how Oklahoma churches are using the outreach to raise awareness about their local congregations in their communities through outreach and by supplementing with their own advertising that is branded to the campaign. This was my first time to cast and select locations for a TV spot it was a lot of fun. See my friend ChurchCommunicationsPro.com guru Cory Miller in his TV debut! The campaign website turned out really good too! Why not log on and get the free e-book?
The commercials were developed after an extensive research project among Oklahoma’s unchurched. We developed the spots and concepts after researching perceptions and needs. Then we did 3 focus groups to test the commercial concepts and explore more in detail. This is the largest mobilization of Oklahoma Baptists in our history.
We would appreciate your prayers as we reach out with the gospel in Oklahoma.
