Who have you worked with before?
I have been in ministry since 1989 and have had extensive opportunities to serve all over the world with ministries of all shapes and sizes. Some of my most known clients have been Purpose Driven Ministries, the International Mission Board, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. Download my portfolio here for some of my work.

Where do you focus your ministry work?
My mission is to help Christian ministries of all kinds use marketing to get the gospel message outside the walls of the church and to the unchurched people of the mainstream marketplace. Helping them reach more people than ever before.

Four Priorities Many ministry marketing activities are possible; I focus my work on four priorities.

  • 1: Evangelism: Engaging the mainstream marketplace with the gospel message
  • 2: Church Planting: Helping new churches launch
  • 3: Church Growth: Assisting existing churches in penetrating their communities with the gospel
  • 4: Missions: Serving international church planting, church growth and humanitarian relief

Will marketing compromise the message of the Gospel?
You Don't Need to Compromise on Theology to Reach People!

We make no apologies for using marketing in ministry. We believe that marketing is a management discipline—like time management or budgeting—that can help ministers be more effective communicators of the Gospel.

Some see marketing as a “secular” activity which leaves no room for God. On the contrary, we firmly believe that God has chosen and empowers us to bring His plan of salvation to the world. And marketing is a way for us to more effectively organize our resources so we can carry out Christ’s Great Commission.

Where is God in all this marketing?
Here are a few verses about God's role and our role:

God's Role

Man's Role

  • God Draws People to himself
John 6:44 - No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
  • God Reveals Himself
Matthew 16:17 - And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jona! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
  • God Convicts
Jude 1:15 - to execute judgment on all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness which they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
  • God Converts
1 Peter 1:3 - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy we have been born anew to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead

  • Man Proclaims
Romans 10:14 - But how are men to call upon him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher?
  • Man Persuades
2 Corinthians 5:11 - Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men
  • Man Follows-Up
Matthew 28:20 - teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.
  • Man Builds Fellowship
1 Thessalonians 5:11 - Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

Are there other ways you can help our ministry besides seminars?
Ministry marketing is my passion! My enthusiasm for developing ministry communications began in 1987 while working as a cross-cultural ministry leader. I became fascinated by the communication process and how media and communications might be developed to help people spiritually.

Ever since then, I have been developing a growing awareness and skill in ministry marketing communications. I find great joy in creatively working to touch people’s lives with God’s word. Over the years, God has given me opportunities develop ministry marketing solutions that have reached people from every region of the world. I have loved using my communication experiences to help ministry leaders, pastors, church planters, missionaries, denominational leaders and Christian organizations all over the planet. There are six ways I’d love to help you!

1. Training Seminars
The Ministry Marketing Coach™ Seminar can help you learn to develop and deliver effective marketing communication that will get the word out, get attention, and invite response from the people you want to reach. My surprisingly simple communication strategy training can help you learn to break through the clutter so you can start building relationships with the people you want to reach.

2. Coaching
You may be surprised to learn that you already have within you what you need to know to make sound marketing decisions. If you haven’t been making them now, it’s because you haven’t developed the marketing mind-set and don’t practice sound marketing disciplines.  I will help you develop and deliver your own marketing communications through marketing coaching.

3. Project Management
When I take on a project to manage, I stay on task until the ministry gets the results they are after. I work hard to understand the ministry objectives and suggest ways to make them happen. Many times I am able to help add the extra angle that takes the ministry to the next level. Being in ministry since 1989, I can integrate the minister's needs with sound marketing discipline.

4.  Media Production and Creative Development
Let me help you develop promotional material that are marketing savvy and professionally designed. I can help you develop logos, brochures, websites, video, display ads—anything you need. I can do it all because I have developed a strategic network of partnerships with media production professionals that enable me to save you a lot of money!

Besides that, you won’t need to know any of the media production jargon or handle any technical things. You’ll be able to focus on the ministry and following up on the people you are trying to reach. Don’t make the mistake of just using a graphic artist for your marketing. Frankly, most graphic artists are not marketers. You will need someone who can help them accomplish your goals and keep your big picture in mind.

5. Market Research
Everybody does research to find out what people need and what will work in marketing and promotions. Don't believe me? It's true by default. Some people just don't realize it because they launch out with a neat idea and a prayer. Then, if the ministry idea flops or flies they learn if it works or not. That’s a backward research approach.

I prefer to learn as much as I can before I spend all the money and time on promotional tools and ideas that won't work. It may seem costly to test new ideas, conduct surveys, focus groups, interviews, etc. But research actually saves money by reducing wasted expenditures. Besides money, research helps save time. It usually takes a long time to realize and admit that a “great” idea is not so great after all.

6. Advertising Design and Media Strategy
Let me work with you to develop your promotion and advertising strategy. I’ll handle the scheduling details and relate to the advertising sales people for you as your agent. Many times I can negotiate savings or little extras that will stretch your marketing budget. I can also help you stay away from advertising in media you don’t need. Let me help you match media to the people you want to reach.

Core theological beliefs:

  • Christianity: We support the work of Bible-believing Christian churches, Christian organizations and Christian-focused businesses that embrace traditional Christian theology only.
  • The Scriptures: The Bible is God’s holy and inspired Word and is the supreme final authority for Christian faith and practice.
  • Nature of God: God is the one triune God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • The Messiah: Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He led a sinless life, took on Himself all our sins, died and rose again, and is seated at the right hand of the Father as our mediator and advocate. Christ rose from the dead and will return to earth visibly one day
  • Nature of Man: That all men everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God, and Jesus Christ is the only mediator of salvation for man.
  • Lifestyle: In living a holy Christian lifestyle of love, honesty, compassion and humanitarianism.
  • Evangelism: Christians have the responsibility to proclaim the gospel to the world, plant new churches, expand the influence of churches in the community and take the gospel to all places and people groups in the world.
